Hours after the Chicago Bears awarded defensive end Robert Quinn the Brian Piccolo Award, rumors swirled about his potential trade. Chicago Sun-Times reporter, Jason Lieser, said on Tuesday that Quinn knows it’s possible the Bears trade him this offseason.
Furthermore, Quinn says he likes playing in Chicago. He’s enthusiastic about the regime transition and hopes his resume from 2021 is enough to keep him in the building.
Robert Quinn’s Uncertain Future With The Chicago Bears
Robert Quinn was in Chicago meeting the new coaching staff and expressed some uncertainty regarding his future. This is understandable, as a new coaching staff typically changes whatever they want in order to build their vision.
Quinn had an outstanding 2021 season and the Chicago Bears are changing defensive schemes, so his uncertain future warrants discussion. However, NFL Insider Ian Rapoport reported earlier that the Bears aren’t shopping Quinn.
In spite of multiple teams inquiring about Robert Quinn, it doesn’t appear that Bears GM Ryan Poles and head coach Matt Eberflus have any intention of letting the almost 32-year-old pass rusher leave the organization.
After trading Khalil Mack and the unlikely return of Akiem Hicks, the Bears have holes to fill. But keeping Robert Quinn’s dominant pass-rushing abilities is extremely important.
