NFL Draft day has finally come. Draft day. And I am not talking about Kevin Costner demanding David Putney just because he felt like it. I am talking about the real thing. The day that every NFL franchise is selling hope. Hall of Fame busts and draft busts. Fun prospects, gadget players, and swiss army knives. High-character winners who might not have the athleticism to cut it on the big stage and greek gods who can’t seem to keep their heads on straight. This is draft day, and it feels like Christmas.

NFL Draft Big Board Methodology

Enough talk about cliches and mantras. Let’s get into methodology. This big board is built a little differently.

If you have been following along, you might have noticed my article where I analyze the draft analysts. I calculated how well each of the major NFL Draft analysts has ranked each position group over the last three draft classes. In an effort to create the best big board possible, I decided to use that data. Rather than just averaging all the big boards I have recorded together, I decided to use a weighted average that accounts for how well each analyst ranks at each position. The following analysts’ big boards were used in this process.

I like spreadsheets and football. I aim to take an analytical approach to my football research while also realizing the physical nature of football and how that impacts the numbers. While my main focus is Chicago Bears, I also write about the NFL as a whole.
