The defending champion Chicago Sky will host the 2022 WNBA All-Star Game. Here’s everything you need to know.

WNBA All-Star Game 2022 Chicago

The defending champion Chicago Sky will host the 2022 WNBA All-Star Game, the league announced Thursday. This marks the first time the Windy City will play host to the event in its 23-year history.

2022 WNBA All-Star weekend will open with the MTN Dew 3-Point Contest and Skills Challenge at McCormick Place on Saturday, July 9 at 2 PM CT. Those events will air on ESPN. The game will take place at Wintrust Arena on Sunday, July 10 at 12 PM CT and air on ABC.

The last time Chicago hosted an All-Star game was in 2020 when the NBA’s festivities took place at the United Center. Kawhi Leonard took home MVP honors that year.

Having the WNBA All-Star game in (arguably) the best summer city in the world will provide further exposure and help the league grow. Chicago has a rich sports history and hungry fans, which should make for a summer to remember when the likes of A’ja Wilson, Candace Parker, Kahleah Copper, and Breanna Stewart take the court. Not to mention the many celebrities that will make appearances at the game. The obvious no-brainer to possibly show up is Chance the Rapper.

Tickets for the 2022 WNBA All-Star Game will go on sale on Friday, May 13 at 11 AM CT. Be sure to grab yours while you can.
