The Crosstown Cup series will begin with a two-game set between the Chicago Cubs and Chicago White Sox on Tuesday at Wrigley Field.
The Cubs (9-13) and Marcus Stroman defeated the Milwaukee Brewers 2-0 on Sunday to avoid being swept by their NL Central rivals. David Ross’ group has struggled offensively, scoring only one run a game in four of their past six games. It’s no surprise the Cubs have slipped lately thanks to road back-to-back series against the reigning World Series champion Atlanta Braves and NL Central champion Brewers.
The White Sox (9-13) and Dylan Cease shut out the Angels 3-0 on Monday at home for a four-game series split. Tony La Russa’s team looks to have shaken off their rough patch from mid-April, when they dropped eight straight.
