A look back at Derrick Rose’s MVP season.

11 years ago yesterday, Derrick Rose became the youngest MVP in NBA history. Wow, 11 years ago. Man, time flies. I remember on 2010-11 media day how confident Rose was. “Why can’t I be MVP? Why can’t I do that?” What a great question that is. What an even better answer.

Rose answered that question he asked in style. He averaged 25.0 PPG, 7.7 APG, and 4.1 RPG. He led the Bulls to a 62-20 record. That was the best in the NBA that year. This dude literally put the Bulls on his back and never looked back.

Through all the trials and tribulations Rose went through here in Chicago, no one can take his MVP season away. Rose embodied the Chicago spirit and helped make the Bulls “cool again.” Once again, it’s hard to believe it was 11 years ago to the day he was named MVP. Thanks for all the memories, Derrick! You’re still our MVP.
