The Chicago White Sox opened their two-game series against the Chicago Cubs with a 3-1 win on Tuesday. It was a cold, wet, and windy night that felt like monsoon conditions at Wrigley Field. Chicago weather, am I right? But the Sox had some fun with it in the dugout by having Dylan Cease mic’d up. After the team shared the footage, it seems Cease may be a psychic as he predicted Tim Anderson’s home run despite the inclement conditions.
That’s pretty awesome, right? I mean, I think it is. Cease literally called an opposite-field home run over the “Sloan sign.” It’s absolutely wild it actually happened that way too. Maybe the mustache Cease is rocking these days gives him more powers than just on the mound.
Dylan Cease has been electric in this young season for the South Siders. In 29 innings across five starts, he possesses a 2.48 ERA with 39 strikeouts. The power of the ‘stache has become a real thing. Who knows? Maybe Cease can help the rest of his team out with some magic and get the White Sox back over .500 sooner rather than later.
In all, Cease deserves major kudos for predicting Tim Anderson’s home run. Sometimes it’s the little things that can turn the tides for a team. Hopefully he’s full of further positive Chicago White Sox predictions that will come to fruition.
