After missing the last few games, the Chicago White Sox have placed 1B/OF Andrew Vaughn on the Injured List. The move is retroactive to May 2. Vaughn was hit by a pitch on the wrist during the ninth inning of April 29th’s 5-1 loss against the Angels. He was originally listed as day-to-day. However, after missing multiple games as a result of the injury, an IL stint was eventually deemed necessary.

Andrew Vaughn proved himself as one of the White Sox most consistent hitters during the month of April, slashing .283/.367/.566 with four home runs over 16 ball games. While the duration of his IL stint remains unknown at this time, the White Sox outfield depth will take another significant blow as fellow left fielder Eloy Jimenez is also still on the shelf.
In a corresponding move, the White Sox have recalled utility infielder Danny Mendick from Triple-A Charlotte. Mendick, who began the year with the big league club, was recently sent down to Triple-A when roster sizes were reduced on May 2.
