The Chicago Bears hosted rookie minicamp over the weekend and signed six of their undrafted free agents. To coordinate the roster moves, the Bears also waived six players, five of which were undrafted free agents.
Bears Sign 6 UDFAs
Out of the plethora of bodies that GM Ryan Poles brought in following the NFL Draft, the Bears signed these six players:
- Christian Albright, LB – Ball State
- Antonio Ortiz, LS – TCU
- A.J. Thomas, DB – Western Michigan
- Jonathan Alexander, DB – Charlotte
- Carson Taylor, DE – Northern Arizona
- De’Montre Tuggle, RB – Ohio
Bears Waive 6 Players
In order to make the additions work logistically, the Chicago Bears had to make several cuts. Khalil Mack’s younger brother, Ledarius Mack, is among those the Bears waived today. The Bears also waived another five players from their pool of undrafted free agents:
- Master Teague, RB – Ohio State
- Landon Lenoir, WR – Southern Illinois
- Savon Scarver, WR – Utah State
- Jaylan Alexander, LB – Purdue
- Amari Carter, DB – Miami
The thought of Justin Fields reuniting with his former runningback in Master Teague is now over. Whether or not it would have worked out is another question. But it’s possible the Bears can revisit this pairing in the future, pending any injuries.
