After coming off an overtime loss to the Los Angeles Sparks on Friday, the Chicago Sky looks to acquire their first win on Wednesday night against the Liberty.
In the loss to the Sparks, there were still some positives. The most significant emerging star Dana Evans posted career-highs all over the stat sheet on Friday. I’m Points (24), assists (5), Steals (4), field goals made (9), three points, field goals made (2), and minutes played (35).
Sure, Evans is filling in for Kahleah Copper while she is still overseas playing in Spain, but having a player who already looks like a veteran coming off the bench would be huge for this team.
It is too early to even think about hitting the panic button after an overtime loss in game one. The team needs some time to get back into the swing of things.
New York is already off to a great start after taking down the always great Connecticut Sun 79-81. Rising star Sabrina Ionescu was on a mission putting up 25 points, six assists, and four rebounds.
This will also be the first time Stefanie Dolson will be playing against her former team. The center signed with the Liberty this past offseason after five seasons with Chicago. During that time she averaged 10.0 PPG, 4.8 RPG, and 1.0 BPG.
It will be a little off seeing Dolson setting picks for a different set of wings. The pick and roll queen was a big part of the Chicago Sky’s championship run in 2021.
