The Chicago Blackhawks initially had three representatives on Team USA at the 2022 IIHF World Championship. Now, that number is down to two as defenseman Caleb Jones will leave the tournament in Finland due to a left wrist injury.
The severity of the injury is unclear at this point. But Jones will return home to Chicago, marking the end of his tournament before it even started.
Caleb Jones recorded 15 points (five goals, 10 assists) in 51 games during his 2021-22 campaign with the Chicago Blackhawks. A pending restricted free agent, Jones will surely want to be healthy as he looks to carve out a full-time role on an NHL blue line in 2022-23.
