Being the scrappiest player on the roster, Javonte Green stepped up to the plate for the Chicago Bulls once Patrick Williams went down at the beginning of the season. The 28-year-old surpassed expectations during the 2021-22 campaign, helping his team in a number of ways.

The forward’s energy and defensive presence were integral to the Bulls’ success. Green was all over the court fighting for every ball, forcing steals, and blocking shots.

Coming off the best year of his career, Green started 45 games for the Bulls in 2021-22 and posted averages of 7.8 PPG, 4.7 RPG, and 1.1 SPG.

His biggest game was on Feb. 11 at home against the Minnesota Timberwolves. Green recorded a season-high 23 points, propelled by 3-for-4 shooting from three-point range, and added four rebounds.

Javonte Green went from a depth option off the bench to a fairly regular starter for the Chicago Bulls following Williams’ injury. He provided consistent shooting, terrific defense, and a top-notch effort level all season long. Weighing expectations vs. output, Green deserves the utmost respect from Bulls fans and peers across the league.
