The Chicago White Sox will likely get one of their starting rotation mainstays back Wednesday. After dealing with COVID-19, Lucas Giolito intends to take the mound for the fourth contest of a five-game series vs. the Royals.
Giolito landed on the COVID Related injured list last Friday. His rotation spot came up Monday and he was not ready to return, so the White Sox deployed Johnny Cueto. Now, Giolito will likely reenter the mix Wednesday, which will push back the rest of the rotation.
On the season, Giolito owns a 2-1 record, 2.70 ERA, 3.77 FIP, and a 12.5 K/9 rate across 26.2 innings. In his last start, he worked seven innings of one-run ball with five strikeouts to lead the White Sox to a 4-1 win over the Cleveland Guardians.
