For the second contest of a three-game road trip, the Chicago Sky head out west to take on the Seattle Storm.
Seattle is off to a rocky 1-3 start to the season after falling to the Las Vegas Aces and back-to-back losses against the Phoenix Mercury.
The absence of Breanna Stewart (health and safety protocols) has been apparent during the Storm’s struggles. However, Chicago native Jewell Loyd has been on a tear with back-to-back 26-point games.
On the flip side, the Sky are rolling following an 82-76 victory over the Minnesota Lynx last Saturday. Five players reached double-digit point totals in that contest.
Former WNBA Finals MVP Emma Messeman, who has been incredible for the Sky early on, led the way. She posted 17 points, seven rebounds, and two assists in the win over the Lynx.
Given the recent trends outlined above, it should be all Sky in tonight’s matchup. Storm center Mercedes Russell will miss the game and Breanna Stewart is listed as questionable. If Stewart does not suit up, expect Chicago’s bigs to have a great night.
