Everyone is counting down the days till AEW Double Or Nothing, and we do not have much longer to wait. In anticipation, let’s take a look back at a week full of exciting All Elite Wrestling action.

The Good

Finally! A story for the Blackpool Combat Club, and it’s one I can get behind. But now the question becomes: when and where does the Blood and Guts match happen?

Dad Harwood vs. Adam Cole was very well put together and both sold everything great. Darby Allin vs. Jeff Hardy shocked me with who won. But those two killed the match and each other. CM Punk vs. John Silver was a fun match. Punk playing heel in Long Island again was perfect.

The story of Wardlow and MJF worked so well for being in MJF’s hometown. The contract they signed is definitely working out. Jungle Boy vs. Ricky Starks was no surprise at being a solid match.

The best part, however, was the build toward a three-way match for the AEW Tag Team Championships at Double or Nothing, adding Swerve Strickland and Keith Lee to the mix. Additionally, we got a great back-and-forth battle between Jamie Hayter and Toni Storm in the Owen Hart Foundation Tournament. Storm came out with the win with an impressive finish to the match.

The Bad

One issue is the lack of time The House of Black and Death Triangle are seeing. They should be on course to face off at Double or Nothing, but it just seems off at this time. Another weird spot of the week was Scorpio Sky attacking Kazarian after retaining his TNT Championship. So, is he a heel again?

The weirdest moment didn’t really take place fully on a show. But it was the fact that Hikaru Shida was announced to be out of the Owen Hart Foundation Tournament due to injury. She took Twitter to let fans know she was fine. But it seems as if they didn’t really think about the story since she worked matches after she was “injured”. Hopefully, they learned a lesson and will talk to the wrestlers beforehand.

The In Between

The Riho vs. Ruby Soho match was just alright on Rampage, but those two need more work against each other. A funny moment occurred when Riho plugged her ears to avoid listening to Ruby’s theme song.

Shawn Spears vs. Bear Boulder didn’t have much to it, just more so to build the story for Wardlow and MJF.
