Chicago Bulls’ guard Zach LaVine underwent left knee surgery in Los Angeles Tuesday. The details of the surgery details are not precise, but most assume it was a scope. LaVine tweaked his knee back in January against the Golden State Warriors, which ailed him for much of the second half of the season.
This is the second time in a four-month span that LaVine has undergone a procedure on his left knee. Surely he wants to make sure everything is kosher so he can prepare for unrestricted free agency. For the first time in LaVine’s eight-year NBA career, he is free to sign with any team he chooses.
Even though Zach LaVine is coming off another knee surgery, he is a hot topic right now amongst NBA fan bases. In 2021-22, he earned his second straight All-Star nod and helped lead the Chicago Bulls to their first playoff birth since 2017. LaVine wants to stay “open-eyed” in free agency, but that shouldn’t necessarily scare Bulls fans. Chicago can offer the longest term and most money of any team fighting for his services.
