The Chicago White Sox received a bit of good news on the injury front today as SP Lance Lynn, and LF Eloy Jimenez appear closer to making much anticipated returns to the ball club. Both could be making rehab starts in Triple-A Charlotte later this week.

Lynn could be ready to make a start this weekend while Jimenez could be even sooner.

Lynn has been sidelined the entire season with a slight tear in a knee tendon that required surgery. He is eligible to return to the team as early as June 6. Lynn’s return will be a welcome addition to a starting rotation that has been very strong over the last month. Decisions may have to be made with Vince Valasquez and Dallas Keuchel to make room for the 35-year-old right hander.

Jimenez has been out since April 23 after tearing a hamstring tendon behind his right knee while running to first base against the Twins. Jimenez should add some much needed pop to White Sox offense that has struggled to score runs all season. The White Sox rank in the bottom half of the Major Leagues in OPS, average, home runs, RBIs, and runs.
