To say the Chicago White Sox have had a rough start to the 2022 season is an understatement. It only got worse on Sunday afternoon when Tim Anderson exited during the fifth inning after making a play at shortstop on a throw to first base. After the throw, Anderson was seen down on the ground grabbing his groin area. Trainers were needed to assist Anderson off the field. Danny Mendick replaced him in the game.
Anderson, who has been one of the bright spots in a dismal White Sox offense, has been the heart and soul of this White Sox team. Losing Anderson for any significant period of time would be the worst-case scenario for an offense that at the moment so desperately needs his presence.
At this time the team has labeled the injury a right groin strain. Anderson will be further evaluated tomorrow.
