Having the same winning mindset as his father, Ron Harper Jr. prepares for the upcoming NBA Draft. He might not be a top-10 pick like his father, but the 6-foot-6 wing is more focused on winning and being someone other than Ron Harper’s kid.

“Play my game and be myself,” Harper Jr. said of advice given by his father. Not everyone gets to soak in advice from their dad, who happened to win five NBA titles. “The work he put in to win five championships doesn’t come easy. That championship culture, I strive to bring that to a team.”

Ron Harper Jr. NBA Draft Outlook

The former Scarlet Knight standout increased his scoring average every year of his four-year collegiate career, making a name for himself as an all-around great shotmaker. In his senior season, Harper Jr. averaged 15.8 points per game, knocking down 44.2 percent of his shots and 39.8 percent from behind the arc.

“The way I’m able to space the floor, shoot the 3 and defend multiple positions, I feel I got to showcase those things that will translate to the next level immediately,” Harper Jr. said. “I’m confident if you need me to be a big shotmaker or a big team guy.”

Ron Harper Jr. projects as a late second-round pick or to fall out of the draft entirely. Either way, he will provide a team two-way play, excellent outside shooting, and shot creation abilities.

With the Chicago Bulls not having a second-round pick, the odds of seeing the former Bull’s son suit up in the red and black are slim. But the thought of seeing “Harper” on the back of a Bulls jersey again surely piques the interest of Chicago fans.
