Coming off a 46-win season, the Chicago Bulls organization has given fans plenty of hope for the future. The team has shown they can hold their own against the best of the best when healthy. But after witnessing his roster ravaged by injuries, which greatly contributed to an early departure from the playoffs, Arturas Karnisovas believes the current Bulls situation is not enough.
“The vision is to win the title,” Karnisovas said in a ‘Home of Basketball’ documentary episode. “I realized last year that this historic club deserves a better team. The current situation is not enough, and we need to create something better.”
The Bulls hired Karnisovas in April 2020 to guide the franchise out of the underwhelming Gar/Pax days and into the future. After one season of evaluation, he turned over most of the roster and elevated the Bulls to contending status.
Karnsiovas’ desire to improve the roster even further is a welcomed sight in the aftermath of the Chicago’s near-decade-long stretch of irrelevancy. After missing the playoffs five of the last seven years, having a front-office head that will not be satisfied until securing a championship is a breath of fresh air for Bulls fans.
As the NBA Draft approaches, it will be interesting to see what the Chicago Bulls do with the 18th overall pick. The Bulls currently do not possess a second-round pick in the upcoming draft.
