Former Chicago White Sox starting pitcher Dallas Kuechel has a new home. The left-hander reportedly signed a minor league deal with the Arizona Diamondbacks organization.

Kuechel, who was designated for assignment by the Chicago White Sox on May 28, struggled mightily in the early going of the 2022 season. In eight starts for the Palehose this season, Kuechel posted an unsightly 7.88 ERA, while walking 20 opposing hitters in just 32.2 innings pitched.

According to the White Sox will be responsible for the remaining $18M of Kuechel’s 2022 salary, and will also be on the hook for the $1.5M 2023 buyout at the end of the season. Dallas will begin his tenure with the Diamondbacks in Triple-A Reno, but does have an opt-out clause in his deal if he is not called up to the majors by a specific date.
