Lonzo Ball recently did an interview with HEIR. In the interview, he mentioned how he loves playing in front of Chicago Bulls fans in Chicago. He said, “Playing there is amazing, personally, those are my favorite fans. I love playing in front of Chicago.”
Ball quickly became a fan favorite in his first season with the Bulls. Unfortunately, for fans and himself, he was limited to only 35 games in his first season. Ball underwent knee surgery back in January. While the surgery was considered a success, he is still dealing with its ramifications of it. Ball tried to ramp up his basketball activities and kept feeling discomfort in the knee, which led the Bulls to shut him down completely.
Ball mentioned before how he wanted to feel like he could play his “game”. The front office was interested in who he is as a player and the fans of Chicago echoed those same thoughts when Ball was brought in through a sign-and-trade deal last offseason.
Ball talking up the city and the front office could prove to be beneficial for future talent looking for a new home. I mean, Ball isn’t wrong, Chicago is a great place to play. Whether my biased is showing or not, I cannot disagree with anything Ball said. Hopefully next year he can remain healthy and help the Bulls reach the postseason once again.
