The Chicago White Sox claimed right-handed pitcher Parker Markel off waivers from Oakland Wednesday and optioned him to Triple-A Charlotte.
Parker Markel made three appearances for the A’s this season allowing one hit, no runs, and striking out three but walking five in three total innings pitched.
The 31-year-old reliever has only played in 23 MLB games in his 11-year professional career. He had brief stints with Pittsburgh and Seattle in 2019 but has mostly floated around the minor league circuit since turning pro in 2010.
The Chicago White Sox (26-28) wrap up their three-game series with the Los Angeles Dodgers (36-20) Thursday at Guaranteed Rate Field before hosting the Texas Rangers in a three-game set beginning Friday.
