Surprise, surprise; the Chicago White Sox have yet another injury on their hands — quite literally. Jake Burger exited early from Monday’s game against the Detroit Tigers due to a bruised right hand.

In the top of the fourth inning, Burger swung at an inside pitch that struck his right hand. Manager Tony La Russa and White Sox trainers attended to Burger near home plate but the DH remained in the game to finish the at-bat with a groundout.

But when Burger’s spot in the order came up again in the fifth inning, Seby Zavala entered as a pinch-hitter.

The Chicago White Sox said Jake Burger’s x-rays came back negative and he is day-to-day.
