The LIV Golf Invitational Series has landed its highest-profile name yet. Four-time major champion Brooks Koepka is the latest golfer to jump ship from the PGA Tour to join the Saudi-backed splinter league, per ESPN.

The news comes after Koepka seemed to remove all mentions of the PGA Tour from his social media bios along with other sponsorships, such as Nike apparel. Koepka was also spotted last week at the U.S. Open playing a Taylormade M5 driver, after he signed a club contract with Srixon to play its irons, wedges, and fairway metals.

Last week, Koepka slammed the media for continuing to ask about the splinter tour, even when the tour isn’t competing.

“I’m ready to play the U.S. Open,” Koepka said. “I think it kind of sucks, too, you are all throwing this black cloud over the U.S. Open.”

Currently the 19th-ranked player in the world, Brooks Koepka is expected to join the LIV Series next week for its event at Pumpkin Ridge, located outside Portland, Oregon. Fellow U.S. Open champs Bryson DeChambeau and Dustin Johnson, along with his brother Chase Koepka, who competed in LIV’s opening event in London, will join him.

Koepka will face the same indefinite suspension the other 17 PGA Tour defectors faced. But it’s unclear as to whether that suspension will begin this week when he’s announced, or after he starts his first round in Portland next week.

Jason Sobel of The Action Network reported that Koepka is in the Traveler’s Championship field this week and could still compete if the Tour follows the same procedure.

LIV Golf will release another wave of names this week leading up to its first event in the U.S. Some of the rumored names include Abraham Ancer and even two-time major winner Collin Morikawa.
