After opting out of his $7.4 million player option for 2022-23, Tucker could be one of the cheap targets the Bulls look to add this offseason.

The Chicago Bulls are reportedly showing interest in former NBA Champion P.J. Tucker, according to Matt Moore of Action Network.

After opting out of his $7.4 million player option for 2022-23, Tucker could be one of the cheap targets the Bulls look to add during the offseason.

The shoe fanatic played a pivotal role for the Miami Heat in 2021-22. Tucker is not a stat sheet stuffer, but he brings veteran leadership, championship experience, and toughness to a roster. All of those qualities could benefit the Bulls as they look to make a deeper postseason run next season.

In 2021-22, the 37-year-old forward posted 7.6 PPG while shooting 41.5% from behind the arc. He also averaged 5.5 RPG and 2.1 APG.

Adding a player like P.J. Tucker — a gritty, hard-nosed gamer that plays with a massive chip on his shoulder — would bring another dynamic to the Chicago Bulls. His defensive presence would also help bolster a Bulls’ area of weakness. Whether it’s isolations or switching off pick-and-rolls, Tucker is an intelligent defender that knows how to stop opponents from scoring.

Let the chaos that is the NBA offseason begin.
