The Chicago Cubs will complete a seven-game road trip when they visit the St. Louis Cardinals for a three-game series at Busch Stadium.
The Cubs (26-44) have dropped four of their past five since winning two straight against the reigning World Series champions Atlanta Braves. Chicago avoided a sweep in Pittsburgh with a 14-5 win in the third game of the four-game set.
The Cubs will be down another pitcher as closer Ethan Roberts will require Tommy John surgery. Chicago will look at other options to fill in for Roberts and hope another young pitcher seizes the opportunity for the rest of the season.
The Cardinals (40-32) are coming off a four-game series split at the Milwaukee Brewers. St. Louis took the middle two games of the series.
One notable shift of this series is the opener on Friday night will air exclusively on Apple TV+. All you need is an Apple ID to watch the game, here.
