Chicago Sky Have 4 Representatives in Hometown 2022 WNBA All-Star Game

With four roster members participating in the 2022 WNBA All-Star Game, the Sky are tied for the league lead in representation.

The league announced Tuesday the reserves for the 2022 WNBA All-Star Game, which features three Chicago Sky players. Courtney Vandersloot, Kahleah Copper, and Emma Meesseman make up the hometown bench trio. They will join their teammate Candace Parker, who was named a starter.

Sky Town

After earning WNBA Eastern Conference Player of the Week honors last week, Kahleah Copper will appear in her second All-Star Game. The former Finals MVP leads the Sky in scoring with 14.0 PPG, shooting 43.8% from the field and 38.3% from three-point range.

As for the reigning Eastern Conference player of the Week, Courtney Vandersloot will make her fourth All-Star appearance of her 12-year career.

She ranks second in the WNBA in assists per game (6.7), only trailing Washington Mystics guard Natasha Cloud (7.4). The Point God is putting up her usual numbers this season — 12.6 PPG on 47.8% shooting from the field and 40.8% from three.

In her eighth season in the league, Emma Meesseman will play in her second All-Star Game. The 2019 WNBA Finals MVP was the first All-Star reserve to win Finals MVP.

In her first season with the Sky, Meesseman has been everything and more for her team. She is Chicago’s second-highest scorer, only behind Copper, averaging 13.2 PPG on 55.6% shooting from the field. On top of that, she is averaging 6.3 rebounds per game while being a great rim protector, flirting with almost a block per game (0.9).

2022 WNBA All-Star Game Details

With four roster members participating in the 2022 WNBA All-Star Game, the Chicago Sky and Las Vegas Aces lead the league in representation. Additionally, each team’s head coach will represent their respective conference.

The 2022 WNBA All-Star Game will tip off Sunday, July 10 at 12 PM CT at Wintrust Arena and air on ABC.
