24 hours ahead of NBA free agency, reports indicate the Chicago Bulls are showing interest in four-year veteran Mo Bamba.
Yes, the song of 2018 could be coming to the United Center this fall. The 7-footer is coming off the best season of his career. Bamba posted career-highs in PPG (10.6), shooting percentage (48.0%), three-point percentage (38.1%), RPG (8.1), and BPG (1.7) in 2021-22.
Bamba would be a perfect fit for Chicago. The 24-year-old is everything the Bulls are looking for — a big man that can come off the bench and serve as a solid rim protector.
He recorded 2.7 defensive win shares last season, which places him in the ballpark of Draymond Green, Fred Van Fleet, and Clint Capela. Additionally, Bamba’s 1.7 blocks per game were seventh-best in the league.
Mo Bamba is still a young player with plenty to prove. If the Chicago Bulls can get him for the right price, it could be the piece to help put them over the edge.
