NBA free agency begins at 5 PM CT Thursday. This period of the offseason always brings about league chaos as rumors and reports churn. One of those reports, via K.C. Johnson of NBC Sports Chicago, indicates the Chicago Bulls are interested in pursuing 10-year veteran Andre Drummond.
Since being traded by Detroit in February of 2020, Drummond has played for four teams in a two-year span.
The 28-year-old center averaged 7.9 PPG and knocked down 57.0% of his shots last season. Drummond also recorded 9.3 RPG and 1.1 SPG while splitting time between the 76ers and Nets.
Is Andre Drummond a Good Fit for the Chicago Bulls?
Frankly, the Bulls could find a better big man to complement Nikola Vucevic instead of targeting one who is out of his prime. Unless they are getting Drummond on the cheap, it does not seem like an ideal use of resources. There are several other options on the market this offseason that can offer the Bulls more versatility.
Drummond made $2.4 million in 2021-22.
