The Chicago Fire moved up from the bottom of Major League Soccer after a shutout win against the Philadelphia Union at Soldier Field. Federico Navarro scored his first goal of the season and goalkeeper, Gabriel Slonina, recorded his seventh shutout in the 2022 season.

Gabriel Slonina’s Comments

For the first time this season, the Chicago Fire have recorded two consecutive home wins and this excites Slonina:

“Wow, this is a good win. I am super stoked about this win obviously and this is how we want it to be right in front of our home fans. The boys played their hearts out. Watching them press, watching them score that goal, that’s what we need adding fuel to the fire”

The Chicago Fire travel across the country to play the San Jose Earthquakes on Sunday, July 3, at PayPal Park.

WGN-TV and CF97 televise that match this weekend. At 8:00 PM CT, the Fire look to get back-to-back wins. The broadcast will also be transmitted locally in Spanish on TUDN 1200 AM.
