NBA Free Agency 2022 edition started out with a frenzy of moves, but the Chicago Bulls were not an early player. As the evening went on, the Bulls’ targets got snagged by other teams, and fans started to get a little worried. Now, the Bulls are ending their four-hour free agency drought, reportedly signing center Andre Drummond.

Drummond’s contract is reportedly for two years worth $6.6 million, with a player option in year two. Still, this is an exciting move for the Chicago Bulls, even if it isn’t Mo Bamba or Mitchell Robinson. Drummond is the NBA’s all-time leader in rebounding percentage.

Moreover, he is fresh off a season averaging 7.9 PPG, 9.3 RPG, and a PER of 21.0. The Bulls entered free agency desperately needing depth in the front court, and they grabbed a very solid option in the 28-year-old Drummond.

As of now, Andre Drummond is an immediate and substantial upgrade over Tony Bradley, who opted into another season with the Bulls. The Chicago Bulls’ new center projects to be the first big man off the bench for Chicago.
