After nearly being swept by the Minnesota Twins, the Chicago White Sox continue the long stretch in the schedule against the AL Central. The Detroit Tigers travel to Chicago for a four-game series this week. Injuries continue to plague the South Siders though and consistency berates them as they cannot string together multiple winning series.

The White Sox badly needed to beat the Twins. Going into that series, the Sox sat 4.5 games behind Minnesota in the AL Central. After losing two of three games, the Sox are now 5.5 games out of first place and sport a record of 39-41.

The good news is that the Tigers aren’t much better than Chicago currently. But that doesn’t mean Chicago should take them lightly, as we know happened in the Baltimore series. Detroit is 34-47 and 11 games behind Minnesota in the division. But they are coming off a four-game sweep of Cleveland heading into this series with the Chicago White Sox.
