A year removed from Brennen Davis taking part in the MLB Futures Game and winning MVP, the Chicago Cubs are likely sending another outfielder to the Midsummer Classic. According to Mark Gonzales, Pete Crow-Armstrong will be heading to Los Angeles to participate in this year’s Futures Game.

PCA dominated the early portion of the season. In 38 games with Low-A Myrtle Beach, the outfielder slashed .354/.443/.557 with seven home runs and 27 RBI. The 2020 first-round pick earned his promotion to High-A with ease, but has struggled a little at the next level.

In just 17 games with South Bend, Crow-Armstrong is slashing .247/.253/.479. That said, he has three doubles, four(!) triples, and two home runs. Despite the average being down, the extra-base hits are still coming in waves for PCA.

The MLB Futures Game will take place on Saturday, July 16 at Dodger Stadium. First pitch is scheduled for 6:00 p.m. CDT and will exclusively be aired on Peacock and SiriusXM.
