Don’t tell Andre Drummond he isn’t a worthwhile addition for the Chicago Bulls.

The 28-year-old rebounder extraordinaire officially joined a Bull Wednesday after signing the two-year, $6.6 million deal he and the team agreed to at the start of free agency last week.

And, while many fans are less than thrilled that Arturas Karnisovas targeted Drummond after he promised to set his sights on rim protection and shooting this offseason, the 10-year vet couldn’t look happier to be here.

The former Third-Team All-NBA honoree and two-time All-Star even rubbed shoulders with the Chicago Bulls’ Summer League team after he landed in town. (We’re certain he’ll get a better grasp of Chicago’s airports before too long.)

Andre Drummond was just a tick better than Nikola Vucevic at defending the rim last season. But the 6-foot-10, 280-pound center has been at, or near, the top of the rebounding percentage leaderboards essentially every year of his career.

That, along with his enthusiasm to be a Chicago Bull, has to count for something.

Just a guy who loves sports almost as much as I love writing about them. Chicago through and through. “When they go low, we stay high.”
