On Monday, July 4th, Chicago Bears wide receiver David Moore was arrested. In his hometown of Gainesville, Texas, police arrested Moore on weapons and drug charges. KXII12 News in Texas reported the 27-year-old posted a $5,000 bond and was released.

More Chicago Bears Players Getting Arrested

David Moore’s arrest in Texas makes him the third Chicago Bears player to be in trouble with the law this offseason. Byron Pringle and Matt Adams were both arrested in the last several months.

TMZ reports that Moore was asleep at the wheel of his vehicle in a drive-thru line late Sunday night.

When police questioned him, they found three pistols and upon smelling marijuana, further searched the vehicle. They found drug paraphernalia and the police booked Moore the following morning.

David Moore signed a one-year deal with the Bears back in April. He’s been a part of three different teams across his five years in the NFL. Moore, a long-time NFL journeyman, provided the Bears depth at the wide receiver position and he added special teams skills they were in need of after losing Jakeem Grant Sr.

All chicago bears that have had off field incidents should be released. This avoids the appearance of favoritism and sends a clear message.
