The Chicago White Sox will play a split doubleheader Tuesday against the Cleveland Guardians. Manager Tony La Russa announced his pitchers for the twin bill: Davis Martin in Game 1 and Dylan Cease in Game 2.
Game 1: Davis Martin

Martin faces a tough challenge going up against Guardians’ ace Shane Bieber in the first contest. The 25-year-old owns a 1-2 record, 4.29 ERA, and 1.238 WHIP in five games this season.
Martin has made two starts, the last of which was on June 3 in Tampa Bay. The White Sox rookie has lost both of those games, allowing a combined 10 hits, five earned runs, and four walks while striking out eight across 10.1 innings.
Game 1 gets underway at 12:10 PM CT.
Game 2: Dylan Cease

The Chicago White Sox ace heads to the hill for the nightcap of the doubleheader. A blatant All-Star snub, Cease may have a bit of a chip on his shoulder heading into this start.
The 26-year-old has dazzled across 17 starts during the 2022 season. Cease owns a 7-4 record, 2.45 ERA, and an MLB-best 13 SO/9 rate. He will face former White Sox prospect Konnor Pilkington, who went to the Guardians in the Cesar Hernandez trade last season.
The second contest of the split doubleheader will begin at 6:10 PM CT.
