The Chicago Blackhawks have added another forward to the mix in free agency. According to Scott Powers of The Athletic, the team has signed center Colin Blackwell. Elliotte Friedman of Sportsnet reports the deal is for two years at $1.2 million AAV.

Blackwell joins the Blackhawks for his fifth NHL season. He spent two seasons in Nashville and one with the New York Rangers before splitting time between Seattle and Toronto in 2021-22.

Last season, the 29-year-old recorded 20 points (10 goals, 10 assists) in 58 games between the Kraken and Leafs. In 138 career NHL games, Blackwell has 52 points (25 goals, 27 assists).

Collin Blackwell joins Max Domi and Andreas Athanasiou as the newest members of the Chicago Blackhawks forward corps. Kyle Davidson has also added backup goaltender Alex Stalock since NHL free agency opened.
