The Chicago White Sox injury woes have returned. Outfielder Eloy Jimenez exited Wednesday’s game against the Cleveland Guardians due to a leg injury.
The left fielder appeared to favor his right leg after making a running catch to record the last out of the sixth inning. Though Jimenez exited the field under his own power, he went to the Sox clubhouse upon entering the dugout.
When the White Sox took the field in the bottom of the seventh, Adam Engel replaced Jimenez in the lineup and moved to right field. AJ Pollock assumed Jimenez’s spot in left field.
Jimenez had just returned from an extended absence and rehab process on July 6. That was his first game since April 23, when he suffered a torn tendon in his right knee that required surgery.
The Chicago White Sox said Eloy Jimenez exited the game with right leg tightness.
