This week, Bill Simmons, founder of The Ringer, released his list of the 64 most valuable trade assets heading into the 2022-23 NBA season.

Simmons ranked players in reverse order — Giannis Antetokounmpo (No. 1) was deemed the most valuable trade asset — and grouped them into a dozen categories.

Zach LaVine (No. 27) came in just behind Pascal Siakam, Rudy Gobert, Karl-Anthony Towns, Kawhi Leonard and Zion Williamson. Meanwhile, DeMar DeRozan (No. 59) landed ahead of Fred VanVleet, Jarrett Allen, Deandre Ayton, OG Anunoby, and Draymond Green.

One notable omission was Patrick Williams, who was said to be valuable enough to help the Bulls fetch Gobert this summer. But Artūras Karnišovas and Marc Eversley were unwilling to part ways with the former fourth-overall pick for the three-time Defensive Player of the Year.

Alex Caruso and Nikola Vučević were two of 17 players to receive honorable mention distinctions.
