The Chicago White Sox have made their second selection on Day 1 of the 2022 MLB Draft. With the No. 62 overall pick in the second round, the White Sox selected right-handed pitcher Peyton Pallette.
Pallette is a 21-year-old hurler from the University of Arkansas. MLB.com ranked him as the No. 43 prospect in the 2022 MLB Draft.
Serving as a reliever in his freshman season (2020) at Arkansas, Pallette appeared in four games, recording one save and three strikeouts while allowing just one earned run across 5.1 innings.
He joined the Razorbacks’ rotation for most of his sophomore year, making 11 starts among 15 appearances. Pallette had a 1-2 record, 4.02 ERA, 67 strikeouts, and 20 walks allowed across 56 innings.
The 6-foot-1 righty missed the 2022 season due to Tommy John surgery.
Peyton Pallette becomes the second pitcher selected by the Chicago White Sox in the 2022 MLB Draft. The South Siders picked high school left-hander Noah Schultz with their first-round (No. 26 overall) selection.
