The Chicago White Sox have another All-Star heading to Los Angeles. Closer Liam Hendriks has been added to the 2022 American League All-Star roster along with Jordan Romano of the Blue Jays. The pair will take the place of Gerrit Cole and Justin Verlander, respectively. Hendriks joins Tim Anderson as the second White Sox All-Star representative.
This will be the third All-Star appearance for Liam Hendriks, who will now appear in back-to-back All-Star Games for the first time in his career. The right-hander also was part of the 2019 AL squad as a member of the Oakland Athletics.
During last year’s All-Star Game, Hendriks was famously mic’d up during the ninth inning of the ballgame which led to some rather wholesome content.
In 30 games this season, Liam Hendriks has recorded a 2.53 ERA, 0.946 WHIP, and 18 saves across 30.2 innings for the Chicago White Sox.
