Chicago Bulls’ guard Ayo Dosunmu is ready for his close-up.
The city’s native son, who turned his golden opportunity with the Bulls last season into a Second-Team All-Rookie nod, will reportedly appear in an episode of “South Side” next season.
The comedy sitcom based in Englewood, from which Dosunmu hails, first premiered on Comedy Central in 2019. However, the show’s creators, Diallo Riddle, Bashir Salahuddin, and Sultan Salahuddin, moved the series to HBO Max for its second season in November 2021.
The third installment of the series, which centers around two recent community-college graduates (Sultan Salahuddin and Kareme Young) who seek entrepreneurship, was renewed in February.
Ayo Dosunmu, a Morgan Park and University of Illinois alum, averaged 8.8 points, 3.3 assists, and 2.8 rebounds last season.
Because of injuries to Lonzo Ball and Alex Caruso, he ended up playing more minutes than any Bull not named Nikola Vucevic, DeMar DeRozan, or Zach LaVine last season.
