July 22, 2022, will go down as one of the most newsworthy days in WWE History. Vince McMahon is officially retiring from his roles as Chairman and CEO of WWE. This ends his 40 years at the top of the company that his father had before him. It will also end his 50-plus years of being involved with the company as he is now stepping away completely. It seems as though he can now focus on the legal battles with all of this behind him.
As the company moves into the future, a new leadership structure will take the reins. The title of CEO will now be a two-person job with Stephanie McMahon and Nick Khan serving as Co-CEOs. It’s a bit of a strange setup to have two people at the top, but we shall see how that goes.
Furthermore, Stephanie will also serve as the Chairwoman going forward. She has occupied that role since Vince took a break before making these final decisions.
But that wasn’t the end of this newsworthy day inside WWE. It seems as if another name would return to the company before all this news came out as well. That individual is Paul “Triple H” Levesque, who is returning after previously stepping away due to health issues. With his return, he will assume an executive position as EVP of Talent Relations.
This development then makes things interesting for John Laurinaitis, who has been involved in the legal battles alongside Vince McMahon. With this latest move, it now seems like Laurinaitis is out of a job within WWE. But there has been no official announcement from the company yet regarding that matter.
What will the future hold inside the WWE walls? Things are definitely going to get interesting with so many changes taking place.
