The Chicago Blackhawks have three prospects ranked in The Athletic’s top 50 drafted prospect rankings by Scott Wheeler.

Wheeler’s list only includes skaters (forwards and defensemen), and he will have a top-10 drafted goalie prospects rankings Tuesday. His criteria for the rankings note the players must be under 23 years old, not currently in the NHL, and either signed to an NHL contract or selected in the entry draft.

Frank Nazar

Forward Frank Nazar is the top-ranked Blackhawks prospect at No. 26. Selected No. 13 overall in the first round of the 2022 NHL Draft, Nazar scored 70 points (28 goals, 42 assists) in 56 games for the U.S. National U18 Team last season. He will be a freshman at the University of Michigan next season. Wheeler notes Nazar’s speed, wrist shot, and ability to play with and without the puck make him a dynamic player.

Kevin Korchinski

Defenseman Kevin Korchinski is next on the list at No. 30. Korchinski (No. 7 in 2022) had 61 assists and 65 points in 67 games for the Seattle Thunderbirds of the WHL this past season. Wheeler highlights Korchinski’s skating ability, passing, and underrated compete level as factors to the defenseman’s high ceiling.

Lucas Reichel

Forward Lukas Reichel is the final Chicago Blackhawks prospect on the list at No. 41. Reichel (No. 17 in 2020) was the only under-20 prospect to average more than a point (1.02) with 57 points (21 goals, 36 assists) in 56 games. He had one assist in 11 NHL games. Wheeler notes Reichel’s stick handling, skating, and playmaking as reasons to be excited to see the forward progress to the NHL level full time.
