Chicago Bears’ star edge rusher Robert Quinn reported to Halas Hall for training camp, according to Tom Pelissero of NFL Network. Quinn’s arrival follows a previous holdout that saw him skip mandatory minicamp.
Quinn’s name appeared in various trade rumors throughout the offseason. He is coming off a remarkable 18.5-sack 2021 campaign that made him the franchise’s new single-season sack record-holder.
Following the Khalil Mack trade, Quinn is likely second-guessing his place in Chicago. Quinn is set to make a base salary of $12.8 million this year, and he has two more years left on his contract afterward.
While Robert Quinn has arrived, the Chicago Bears still have holdout issues. Linebacker Roquan Smith says he will not be participating in camp. Smith is looking for a contract extension, and it seems the parties aren’t yet aligned regarding compensation.
