The Chicago White Sox have yet another injury on their hands. Reliever Joe Kelly exited Wednesday’s game against the Rockies due to right biceps discomfort.
Kelly entered the game in the bottom of the eighth inning. He allowed a double, a hit by pitch, and recorded two strikeouts. However, he shook his hand in pain after fanning Kris Bryant, the last batter he would face.
The Chicago White Sox training staff came out to attend to Kelly and removed him from the game after minimal discussion. Jimmy Lambert relieved Kelly and recorded the final out of the eighth inning.
The diagnosis of right biceps discomfort is especially concerning considering Joe Kelly missed the beginning of the season due to a nerve issue. It also resulted in limited usage early in the 2022 campaign.
The right-hander will undergo further evaluation, per the White Sox.
