Notre Dame football unveiled their 2022 Shamrock Series uniforms with a twist Wednesday.
Fighting Irish head coach Marcus Freeman, tight end Michael Mayer, and defensive end Isaiah Foskey played the three main characters from “The Hangover.” Former Irish offensive linemen Mike Golic and his son, Mike Golic Jr., also appeared in the video.
During a staged drop-off in the desert, where Freeman pulled up in a Rolls Royce, the Golics handed the current Irish trio the famed 1988 championship jersey. Freeman and his players then headed down the strip to the top of the building where they found the white uniform.
The Irish will wear white with metallic gold trim. The year “2022” is etched on the back color with a shamrock. The shoulder stripe features the Golden Dome on Notre Dame’s campus and the sleeve has a classic shamrock reimagined through an Art Deco lens.
Notre Dame will play BYU on Oct. 8 at Allegiant Stadium, home of the NFL’s Las Vegas Raiders.
