The Chicago Cubs look to continue their season-long winning streak when they visit the San Francisco Giants for a four-game series starting Thursday.

The Cubs (40-57) have won six straight, including their first five of the second half. Despite their recent winning streak, the focus on the Cubs is the Aug. 2 trade deadline. The trade rumors involving catcher Willson Contreras, outfielder Ian Happ, and reliever David Robertson are the main talking point around the Cubs.

The Giants (48-50) entered the second half with a three-game win streak, but have dropped a season-high seven straight on the road after the All-Star break. Sure, the first four were against the Los Angeles Dodgers, but the next three were against the middling Arizona Diamondbacks. The Giants have lacked offense, their bullpen hasn’t delivered, and the defense hasn’t been good lately.
