Amidst a lackluster trade deadline, the Chicago White Sox announced a roster move. The club activated Luis Robert from the injured list, general manager Rick Hahn said Tuesday.

Robert last appeared in a White Sox game on July 15. He exited that contest after the first inning due to lightheadedness and blurred vision. The star centerfielder endured those symptoms for some time after, as the Sox announced he was on the injured list upon MLB action resuming post-All-Star break.

Robert began a rehab assignment at Triple-A Charlotte on July 28 but appeared in just one game before experiencing cold symptoms and returning to Chicago Sunday. White Sox manager Tony La Russa said Monday that Robert’s cold symptoms had cleared up but did not provide an update on his blurred vision and lightheadedness symptoms.

According to Sox GM Rick Hahn on Tuesday, Luis Robert was suffering from the effects of a virus and vitamin deficiencies but the symptoms have subsided. Now, the Chicago White Sox have activated him from the injured list. He likely will not play in Tuesday’s game against the Kansas City Royals, however. The club intends to monitor his workload through the next week-plus.
