As the NFL preseason approaches, the Chicago Bears continue to add to their linebacker corps. On Friday, the team signed USFL star DeMarquis Gates. Today, they have reportedly added former New York Jet Javin White.

White only has two NFL seasons under his belt. In 2020, he appeared in four games for the Raiders and recorded four tackles. He split time with the Raiders and the Jets last season but didn’t record any stats as he only appeared in two games.

Javin White was an undrafted free agent. He played his college ball at UNLV, where earned All-Mountain West Conference honors.

It’s refreshing to see Ryan Poles bring in players for constant competition, even for the last spots. Doing so will help the Chicago Bears put the best product on the field come Week 1.
